The Quart Festivalen (Quart Festival) was an annual festival held across several days each year in Norway. In 1999 the festival was split between the island of Odderøya and city clubs in Kristiansand.[1] James Lavelle DJed at the festival inside their QUARTCLUB area in Kristiansand.[2]

The Quart program wrote about Lavelle's appearance on Thursday July 8 as follows: "The same night also plays James Lavelle , who should be known as the head of the influential Mo 'Wax label, as well as for last year's UNKLE project, which he initiated together with DJ Shadow. On the album Psyence Fiction, Lavelle and DJ Shadow got star names like Richard Ashcroft, Mike D and Thom Yorke, while Lavelle has previously remixed people like Beck, Can, Cornelius, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Massive Attack, Stina Nordenstam, Radiohead, Tortoise and The Verve."[3]

Other bands and DJs at the festival included Garbage, Placebo, Cornelius, Massive Attack, and Peanut Butter Wolf.[4]. Several films were also shown during the festival.[5]
