An important part of Mo' Wax history, Steve Finan was managing James Lavelle when he decided to join A&M. At the time James Lavelle was about to sign a deal partnering Mo' Wax with Virgin Records, but when Finan joined A&M Lavelle decided to move to A&M instead. Both Virgin and A&M had offered Lavelle similar deals, but Lavelle had previously leaned towards Virgin due to their connection with Massive Attack.
In the following issue of Music Week, Music Week 25 February 1995, it was announced that Mo' Wax had signed to A&M.
