Daydreaming with...James Lavelle: Camden were a series of shows held in 2017 as part of the promotional tour for Unkle's 'The Road Part One' album release. The events included seven nights at Camden's Jazz Cafe, Unkle performing live at Koko, a night of Unkle films screened at The Roadhouse, and an Unkle pop-up store at Camden Market. Speaking on the event James Lavelle said, “Camden has some of the best live music venues in London, from The Jazz Cafe, to KOKO, to The Roundhouse. As one of the first DJs to play at the Jazz Cafe, it takes me back to the roots of where I came from. The artists performing reflect where I come from musically and culturally when I started djing, and that is a major focus for the programming. Camden is where it first started for me. The first gig I ever went to was Soul II Soul in 1989 and I used to come to the market as a teenager, go to Dingwall’s for the Talkin' Loud night, and comb the masses of record and clothing shops that were around at that time. It was very culturally important for me at the beginning of my career but also, Camden has been my home for the last 20 years.”[1]

Review of Live at Koko

It was Tuesday the 26th of September and everybody with a good taste for music found their way to Londons KOKO in Camden Town. James Lavelle and his band played an amazing show. It really was a visual and musical rollercoaster ride. Tracks were played from all albums. From Psyence Fiction to Never Never Land to War Stories and from the newest, amazing The Road Part One album. The crowd was celebrating the night with enthusiastic applause and screaming. The lights and video animations was perfectly selected for every song and all singers and musicians were just stunning. Thanks a lot for an unforgettable night.[7]
