Released in 1997, the figure was produced to promote the Ape Vs MoWax album[1]. Both figures can be removed from their stands.
Playground Magazine lists the figures as being released in 1999[2], while other sources say 1997[3].
The same molds were later reused for the ART OF WAR JL77 JAMES and Ape Sounds Nigo figures released in 2000.
